MRSA Connected to Iraq War?

Prior to the Gulf War MRSA was practically unheard of in the UK.
There was a steady rise in cases of MRSA following the Gulf War and a huge increase in cases following the Iraq war.

Following the attempt by an Iraqi doctor to turn himself into a human fireball at Glasgow airport a few years ago the PM promised a detailed report on the numbers of Iraqi doctors and nurses working in the NHS.
As far as I'm aware this report never happened.
